Jon Rollins (United States)

Jon Rollins (b. 1991) makes abstract and non-representational work through media experimentation and variations of process. His works evolve through oscillations of spontaneous, intuitive movements and methodical structuring, ranging from chance marks to grid layouts. His imagery incorporates realistic cues, doodles, abstracted forms, and patterns.

Jon received his BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2013. He has exhibited work throughout North Carolina and recently in Madrid. He is one of the latest artists in the Ars COCO collection, an initiative showing worldwide emerging artists in Madrid galleries. In 2017, he was the recipient of Penland School of Craft’s David Marshall Scholarship.
